Living in an estate has many benefits, one of which is being able to belong to a variety of well-organised local clubs/societies.
For residents of Silver Lakes Golf and Wildlife Estate the above is borne out by the fact that residents have access to several different clubs many of which have a long track record. Some of these clubs are listed below.
Athletics/Running Club
A weekly time trial is organised on Silver Lakes Estate for serious and social runners and walkers to participate in. The start and end point is situated at the Clubhouse.
Bird and Photography Clubs
These Clubs meet on a regular basis where members can share experiences and interesting information. Subject specialists are often invited to present informative talks. Outings are also arranged for members.
Bridge Club
Members of the Bridge Club meet on a weekly basis usually on a Tuesday evening. This well-established Club is always ready to welcome new members.
Chess Club
The Chess Club is one of the newest clubs on the Estate. Its role is to foster the love of chess amongst children, providing a safe environment where children can learn and play chess together. Regular competitions are organised by the Club.
Fishing/Angling Club
This Club has a large and diverse membership. Many families join the Fishing/Angling Club so the age of members is very varied. There are designated lakes on Silver Lakes Golf Estate where members of the Club can fish. All fish that are caught must be released and returned to the water. Events and outings are regularly arranged for members.
Golf Club
The Silver Lakes Golf Club has been established for close to 30 years and has a strong and vibrant membership ably supported by a professional golf management team. Other than an 18-hole championship golf course, facilities include a halfway house, golf academy, restaurant, putting and chipping practice greens as well as driving range.
