In 2020 working from home became the new normal and then with school closures, the necessity for home schooling was thrust onto parents.
Many professionals have continued to work from home and with the reopening of schools delayed until 15 February 2021, home schooling remains a reality and for the lucky ones, so is working from home.
Most Important Room in the House
Taking the above into consideration, besides the kitchen, the next most important room in the house is becoming the home office. The home is now more than just a place to sleep and to rest, it has become a place of work and study.
Space Equals Sanity
With this new dynamic at play, having sufficient space both inside and outside the home is crucial. Conducting online meetings and home schooling around the same dining table causes conflict and is counter-productive. The need for separate working areas is heightened in such instances. Additionally when it is time for a pause, a garden and swimming pool are wonderful escape zones allowing the family to unwind and have a break from work and study.
And If All Else Fails
If all else fails and the need arises to go further than just the garden for peace and quiet, residents of golf and security estates have a number of possibilities available that can be explored.
For instance, in an estate like Silver Lakes Wildlife and Golf Estate there are communal areas where residents can 'escape' for a round of golf, try a hand at 'catch and release' fishing, go cycling, walking and jogging as well as hiking in the nature reserve amongst the wildlife. For the very active, tennis and squash is available, taking into consideration that the required COVID-19 protocols need to be adhered to at all times.
Stay sane by having dedicated work and home schooling areas in the home and make time to spend a few hours every day outdoors.
